Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Open 32nd International Conference of Agricultural Economists

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially open the 32nd International Conference of Agricultural Economists (ICAE) on August 3, 2024, at the National Agricultural Science Centre (NASC) Complex in New Delhi. The Prime Minister will inaugurate the conference at 9:30 AM and address the attendees on this significant occasion.

The ICAE, held every three years by the International Association of Agricultural Economists, is making its return to India after 65 years. Running from August 2 to August 7, 2024, this year’s conference will be a notable event on the global agricultural calendar.

Under the theme “Transformation Towards Sustainable Agri-Food Systems,” ICAE 2024 will address critical issues facing modern agriculture, including climate change, resource depletion, rising production costs, and geopolitical conflicts. The conference aims to spotlight India’s innovative strategies and advancements in agricultural research and policy, positioning the country as a leader in global agricultural development.

The conference will bring together approximately 1,000 delegates from around 75 countries, offering a platform for emerging researchers and established experts to share their work and build international networks. It will also serve as a forum for strengthening collaborations between research institutions and universities, influencing both national and global agricultural policies, and showcasing advancements in digital agriculture and sustainable food systems.

ICAE 2024 is poised to be a landmark event, highlighting India’s ongoing efforts to lead and innovate in the field of agriculture. The conference will play a crucial role in shaping the future of sustainable agriculture and fostering global partnerships in addressing the sector’s most pressing challenges.
