PM Modi Holds Delegation-Level Talks with Seychelles President Patrick Herminie in Delhi

Date:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday held delegation-level talks with Seychelles President Patrick Herminie at Hyderabad House in New Delhi, underscoring the continued engagement between the two countries across multiple areas of cooperation.

The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral ties, with discussions covering political cooperation, development partnership, maritime security, and people-to-people linkages. Officials from both sides reviewed progress on ongoing projects and explored avenues to deepen collaboration in sectors of mutual interest.

India and Seychelles share close and longstanding relations, particularly in the Indian Ocean region, where maritime security and capacity building have been key pillars of cooperation. The talks also reflected India’s emphasis on its neighbourhood-first and SAGAR (Security and Growth for All in the Region) vision, which seeks to promote stability and prosperity in the Indian Ocean.

According to official sources, the leaders exchanged views on regional and global issues of shared concern and reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation through regular high-level engagements. Development assistance, infrastructure support, and collaboration in areas such as renewable energy and healthcare were also discussed.

The delegation-level interaction at Hyderabad House highlights India’s continued diplomatic outreach and its focus on strengthening partnerships with friendly nations in the Indian Ocean region.
