India’s Rise Will Be Driven by Its Own Strength, Says EAM S. Jaishankar at Raisina Dialogue 2026

Date:

External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar on Friday said that India’s rise on the global stage will be determined by its own strength and capabilities, not by the mistakes of other countries.

Speaking at the Raisina Dialogue 2026 during a session titled “Heart of the Seas: Future of the Indian Ocean,” Jaishankar highlighted India’s growing role in the Indian Ocean region and its expanding influence in global affairs.

Clear and Unstoppable Rise of India

The External Affairs Minister said the direction of India’s rise is clear and unstoppable, driven by the country’s economic growth, strategic partnerships and strong domestic capabilities.

He emphasised that India’s development trajectory will be shaped by its own policies, strengths and vision, rather than external factors.

Indian Ocean Countries to Benefit from India’s Growth

Jaishankar noted that countries in the Indian Ocean region are likely to benefit from India’s rise and growing engagement in the region.

He said nations that choose to work closely with India will see greater opportunities for cooperation, economic growth and regional development.

High-Level Participation in Raisina Dialogue

The discussion at the Raisina Dialogue session also featured foreign ministers of Seychelles, Mauritius and Sri Lanka, along with the former Foreign Minister of Australia, focusing on the future of cooperation and security in the Indian Ocean region.

The Raisina Dialogue, India’s premier conference on geopolitics and geo-economics, brings together global leaders, policymakers and experts to discuss key international issues and strategic developments.
