In a recent interview, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shed light on his government’s unwavering stand against corruption. He emphasized that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been steadfast in its commitment to policy-driven governance over the past ten years. The Prime Minister also took a swipe at the Opposition, accusing them of “glorifying the corrupt” and alluding to the so-called “Khan Market Gang”.

Corruption: A Termite Eating Away at the System

“Corruption is like termites, making the system hollow,” said PM Modi, echoing the sentiments of a nation weary of corruption. He recalled his election campaign in 2013-2014 when he pledged to tackle corruption head-on, a promise that resonated with many and sparked widespread outrage against the rampant corruption.

A Decade of Policy-Driven Governance

Upon assuming power, PM Modi’s government took decisive steps to identify and rectify systemic defaults and loopholes. He asserted that a policy-driven country with clear guidelines significantly reduces the scope for corrupt practices.

“By laying out the policy in black and white, we minimize the grey area, thereby reducing the scope for discrimination,” he explained. This focus on policy-driven governance has been a cornerstone of his administration’s approach.

The Opposition and the “Khan Market Gang”

PM Modi did not mince words when criticizing the Opposition over corruption. He pointed out that vested interests raise questions when the “big fish” are caught. He questioned the motives of the “Khan Market Gang” and their attempts to frame narratives to shield criminals from facing the law.

In conclusion, PM Modi’s unwavering stand against corruption and his emphasis on policy-driven governance underscore his administration’s commitment to transparency and accountability. His criticism of the Opposition and the “Khan Market Gang” highlights the challenges in the ongoing fight against corruption.
