PM Modi Highlights Success of Production Linked Incentives at Kautilya Economic Conclave

Date:

In a dynamic address at the Kautilya Economic Conclave, Prime Minister Narendra Modi showcased the significant advancements made in India’s manufacturing sector through the implementation of Production Linked Incentives (PLI). He emphasized that the initiative has become a cornerstone of the government’s strategy to foster growth and innovation across various industries.

“To boost manufacturing in India, we have introduced Production Linked Incentives,” Modi stated, outlining how these policies have successfully attracted substantial investments. He reported that in just the last three years, the PLI scheme has drawn investments worth approximately 1.25 trillion rupees (1.25 lakh crore rupees).

The impact of these investments has been profound, leading to production and sales reaching around 11 trillion rupees (11 lakh crore rupees). “This showcases the effectiveness of our initiatives and highlights the potential of India’s manufacturing capabilities,” he remarked, reflecting on the positive outcomes of the policy.

In addition to discussing the PLI scheme, Modi praised the impressive growth in India’s space and defense sectors, which he described as remarkable achievements. “Our advancements in these areas not only bolster national security but also reinforce India’s position on the global stage,” he noted, reiterating the importance of a robust manufacturing base.

Modi’s comments reinforce the government’s vision of transforming India into a global manufacturing powerhouse. The PLI scheme, part of the broader “Make in India” initiative, aims to enhance the competitiveness of Indian industries while attracting foreign investments and fostering job creation.

As India continues to evolve as a significant player in the global economy, PM Modi’s address at the Kautilya Economic Conclave serves as a reminder of the government’s commitment to sustainable manufacturing growth and innovation, positioning the nation for a prosperous future.
