217th Course Cadets Graduate as Defence Minister Reviews Air Force Academy Parade

Date:

India’s Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, has told newly joined Indian Air Force officers to learn and use modern military technologies like drones, satellites, and robots, as the nature of security threats and warfare is changing.

He reviewed the Combined Graduation Parade of the 217th course at the Air Force Academy in Dundigal, Hyderabad, today.

While speaking to the graduating officers, Rajnath Singh stressed the need for innovation, alertness, and lifelong learning. He said that warfare is changing rapidly and encouraged the officers to stay updated with the latest military technologies and tactics.

He stated that unlike the battles of the past, today’s battlefields employ advanced technologies such as radar, satellites, drones, and robotics, making threats less visible and far more complex.

The Defence Minister also commissioned the first batch of female cadets trained at the National Defence Academy; these cadets had joined the Air Force Academy for branch-specific training after passing out from the NDA last year.

Shri Singh advised the officers to remain prepared for all challenges and to adapt their responses to changing circumstances. He emphasized that, alongside hard work and smart working, officers should strive for excellence, given how technological advancements are rapidly transforming military capabilities worldwide.

At the ceremony, Su-30 MKI fighter jets, the Sarang helicopter team, and the Surya Kiran aerobatic team showcased impressive flying displays. Senior officers from different branches of the armed forces were also present at the event.
