PM Modi Unveils Green Hydrogen and Solar Power Initiatives at Kautilya Economic Conclave

Date:

At the Kautilya Economic Conclave, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced transformative initiatives aimed at bolstering India’s renewable energy sector, with a particular focus on green hydrogen and solar power. Setting an ambitious goal, Modi declared that India is targeting the production of 5 million tons of green hydrogen by the end of this decade.

“This initiative will not only position India as a leader in the global green hydrogen market but will also significantly contribute to our commitment to combat climate change,” Modi stated. The emphasis on green hydrogen underscores India’s strategy to diversify its energy sources and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.

In addition to hydrogen initiatives, the Prime Minister introduced the PM SuryaGhar Free Electricity Scheme, a comprehensive rooftop solar program aimed at democratizing solar energy access across the country. “We are taking solar power production to the micro level in India,” he explained, highlighting the importance of making renewable energy solutions available to every household.

Under this scheme, the government will provide financial support to families for setting up rooftop solar systems, facilitating the installation of necessary solar infrastructure. “This initiative empowers families to harness solar energy, making each home a participant in our journey towards a sustainable future,” Modi added.

The announcements have been met with enthusiasm from environmentalists and industry leaders, who see them as crucial steps toward achieving India’s long-term climate goals. By encouraging household-level solar energy production, the government aims to reduce carbon footprints while stimulating local economies.

As India positions itself as a frontrunner in renewable energy, the initiatives unveiled at the Kautilya Economic Conclave reflect the government’s dedication to creating a sustainable, eco-friendly energy landscape for the nation. With these ambitious plans, Prime Minister Modi is paving the way for a greener and more resilient future.
